Aims & Objectives

The Public Relations Society of Yugoslavia (PRSYU) is the professional association of Yugoslav PR practitioners engaged with PR practice, education and research.

PRSYU was founded on 27 January 1993 in Belgrade, Serbia to provide an institutional framework and support to members in reaching their goals.

The mission of PRSYU members is to give their professional contribution to:

  • the development and promotion of the PR profession, PR education and PR research;

  • establishing professional contacts and cooperation on a regional and international level;

  • the promotion and implementation of professional and ethical standards in PR
    practice, education and research.

PRSYU has been a full member of the European Public Relations Confederation ( CERP) since 26 October 1996.

Membership of PRSYU

The enrolment of new members in PRSYU is performed on the basis of personal request, or existing members' recommendation. 

There are 4 categories of membership:

  • regular members - minimum three years experience in public relations practice, education or research, or an academic accreditation approved by faculties and institutions which have an established PR curriculum at the University level.

  • associate members - those who do not meet the above mentioned criteria but who make a socially recognized personal contribution to the development and promotion of the PR profession, education or research.

  • students - engaged with public relations education programs or related fields of study who have personal interest in preparing themselves for a career in PR.

  • honorary members - distinguished individuals, at regional or international level, who have personally contributed to the development of the PR profession, education and research in Yugoslavia.
